HAPPY NEW YEAR

Here it is, December 31, 2012. What a fast, busy time it has been. I hope that you have all enjoyed the Christmas holidays and are looking forward to a happy, healthy new year and are enjoying the changes to your news "letter". Please continue to send suggestions and news. We have had 266 page views this month (50 of them by me) so I think that is a good response.

Here are the news items received this week:

From Lynn Hanson:
roger -
Thanks for setting up the web site on Gambles
Alumni.
I am in Arizona and all is well.
I'll be checking the blog every few days to see
if there is anything new.
Thanks again and have a VERY Merry Christmas
with your family.

As ever,
Lynn

From Lee Parker:

Roger Thanks for the blog.
It doesn't seam like 30 years ago, but time fly by too fast. I will turn 83 this Jan. 5th, I lost my first wife Betty Mar, 23 '94 after 43 years. I remarried Shirley Moyer Dec. 12 '96. We are booth in fair health with all the pain that goes along with old age. Shirley had a stroke and heart attack at the same time Oct. 2004, and has had several mini strokes since. I fell in the back yard and broke my right.hip Aug. 23, '11 and had to have a replacement but still get around with a use of a Cain.
I enjoyed the news over the years and sorry it had to come to a close but I understand
Best regard to all
Lee Parker 1952 to 1984

From Dick Walker

Good morning Roger and Happy New Year
We were all pleasantly surprised and pleased to see Bob Lee [ the anchor man on the service team] at the June reunion and to reminisce about the years he and his family spent here in Minneapolis--I know his son is still here --we keep reading about the major cases he has won as a corporate attorney.
We were not surprised to learn that Bob has made enough money playing golf to buy his own airplane and he has a photo to prove it. If he is reading this, he could send in the photo for all to see.
He also said Joyce won't fly with him so if you are in the area on a nice day I am quite sure he would take you up for a ride.

Thank you again for your support and keep writing. Roger

MOVING FORWARD

As the Company was winding down after the Wickes purchase, the Gambles Alumni Association was formed in 1983 as a way for old friends to keep in touch, with newsletters and periodic get-togethers.

Just as the Company had to wind down, now comes the time for the Alumni Association to redesign. This web site is, we hope, a step into the future. Your Alumni Board will be replaced by an Alumni Committee of volunteers that will meet as necessary.

As we enter this new challenge, please send your news articles, memories and events to the email below. I will be able to post them to this site  as they arrive. Please include any constructive remarks also, we want this to be your site.

Please, everyone join in to make this work, let all of our old friends know about this change.

The website address is: www.gamblesalumninews.blogspot.com

You can email me at rogervhanson@gmail.com.

Let's make this a real success.

Of course we have our "family" of true friends at Gambles, who,
over the past thirty+ years have shared their highs and lows, and good times and bad, and found comfort in sharing. It's also called love.
